The internet really can be a wonderful and very useful medium. Here I am sitting in work today, and I’ve been engrossed in the goings on in the world and the war all day.
I’ve set Salam’s blog as my homepage after discovering it last night. It really is a fascinating insight into the daily life of people in Baghdad now that the war has started, and I really hope that it stay’s online for the duration of the war and going on from there.
Aside from that, the single greatest resource that I’ve been relying on today has been Google’s news section which randomly and regularly generates news stories from around the world, which hopefully with the variation in sources will lead to a more general overview of what’s going on, with less emphasis on the propaganda generated on all sides of this conflict.
I’ve also had the BBC News Real Video Stream running in the background all day. So far, I haven’t seen much TV coverage, other than first thing this morning when I was stumbling bleary eyed around the house, and what I’ve been watching here in work today, but I have to say, the BBC coverage has been excellent.
