I went along to Trinity College last night for both the Doolin Technology Talk and also Jon ‘Maddog’ Hall’s talk. I enjoyed the Doolin talk by Mark Jason Dominus on Perl and the Unix OS, although I admit some of it was slightly over my head!

Then Maddog came up to give his talk. I thouroughly enjoyed this, Maddog is an excellent and entertaining speaker, and I was raging that for some reason I had decided to get the train yesterday instead of driving, so unfortunately I had to leave slightly early!

Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that the last time I was at a Linux related talk in Trinity my car was broken into!! I’ve also noticed that I no longer feel safe walking around Dublin city, but that’s a rant for another time……
