With all that was going on today, I never got round to posting anything about the excellent SAGE-IE meeting that I was at last night. SAGE-IE for those who don’t already know are the System Administrators Guild of Ireland, the Irish branch of SAGE, a professional body for System Administrators.
Donal Cunningham is trying to promote the organisation, and is doing a great job of it from what I can see, although he is looking to expand membership all the time.
Last night was the first ‘proper’ SAGE meeting I was at, having previously been to their Symposium on Data Retention. The talk last night was entitled Hacking Exposed and was given by Donal himself. The slides used in the presentation are available here.
I found it very interesting and informative, plus retiring to the pub afterwards was a great way to meet some of the people I know from the ILUG mailing list and chatrooms!
