Well, the plan for this weekend is to head up to Carlingford on Friday evening, to stay on the boat. We’re heading to Ardglass in Co. Down early on Saturday morning, apparently there’s a flotilla of boats going, but I don’t know how many there is yet. There’s a Bar B Q organised in Ardglass on Saturday evening, and no doubt there will be plenty of brews downed.
Sunday we are heading to the Port Saint Mary in the Isle of Mann, which I am really looking forward to, I’ve wanted to sail to Mann for quite a while now, and I’m well excited. Remembered to buy my Sterling today for the trip over!
Heading back from Mann to Carlingford on Monday, no doubt to crash into bed and recover in time for Tuesday!
Then, it’s a case of packing the bags and getting ready for America on Saturday morning. Bought some dollars today, not taking too much with me, as I don’t like carrying too much cash, so I’ll be relying on the credit card when I get over! Found out yesterday that the bank upgraded my credit limit too, which is a welcome bonus just before I go away, I was going to call to get it done anyways, in case of an emergency (shopping spree!)

Wow…just found an amazing story on BBC about a man who jumped from a plane over Dover this morning and flew the 22 miles to Calais without an engine etc. The story is well worth a look, it’s fascinating reading

Well, organising of the 21st has started to kick into full swing, given I’ve a week to organise it, and my plans for America. I’ll have two days back from the US before the party, but I want to try and have it all arranged before I go away. So far, I’ve sat down and thrown 50 names on paper without even thinking which is kinda scary, but that’s a good number to have, because I reckon of the 50 names I have so far, only about half will actually be able to make it!

My new machine here in work is poweful enough to let me play with Active Desktop a little for the first time ever. So, I now have live web-cam streams from Dublin and New York displayed alongside my irc/putty sessions on the right hand side of the screen and everything else I’m working with along the left. Ok, it’s slowed performance od the machine down slightly, but nothing major, it’s still a damn site better that I was used to on my work machine, and it all looks so purty now!!

Debs sent me this picture. I saw it the other day and thought it was her Tia, but I’ve since been put in my place and told it isn’t, still a gorgeous wee cat all the same!

There’s an interesting article over on BBC which is well worth a read about how dependant we have become on email. I for one know I can’t survive more than a few hours without checking my mail. despite the fact that I complain fairly continously about the massive amounts of mail that I receive on a daily basis!
Electronic mail is playing such a key role in companies that most people start to get annoyed after just 30 minutes without e-mail access

I’ve just booked my flight from NY to Chicago with ATA. I ended up having to call them, it looks like no US air-line will allow non us residents to book flights online, which is a pain in the ass, but the girl I was speaking to was most plesant, and I ended up getting the flight I wanted for the same price as it would be if I booked it online!
