New York Camera (ny-camera.net) no longer trading
31 10 2004Some very bad news I am afraid, New York Camera have gone bust and out of business. They have laid off their staff and a bank official has been appointed to liquidate the company. I have received the below email from one of their employees. I have also posted the headers of this email to verify authenticity, it looks like a genuine mail when compared to previous emails from the company. Looks like I now have to go and look elsewhere for my EOS 20D

NYC is in insolvenz arranged by a bank.We try to solve the problems.
So at the moment we are able to do nothing.
A special guy from the gouverment will take care in the next week about NYC.

I’m sad to hear that New York Camera is no longer trading. I believe it is the company from which we bought our fine cameras since the 60’s (in person) and now were looking for you, because we trusted you, to buy our first good ditgital camera……… I now live too far from NYC to check you out in person. I don’t know if the New York Camera you dealt with is the same people, from my understanding, the New York Camera I dealt with was an online trading entity only and did not actually have a physical store trading under that name. Also, New York Camera as I know it is in fact based in Germany and not New York at all!
