DjMagra’s stuff ‘n’ stuff

Well, after the debacle with ny-camera.com and ordering my camera from them prior to them going bust, I have re-evaluated some online vendors and settled with technikdirekt.com. They are reputed to have some very good service, and I have been impressed by their quick and helpful response to email’s that I have fired in their direction.

They also appear to be very reputable and do quite a good trade, so, hopefully they don’t have to file for Bankruptcy prior to me getting my hands on the camera.

Whilst talking of the camera, I have decided to go for the Canon EF-S 17-85 lens to compliment the 20D. I have read mixed reviews of this lens, it would appear that Canon had some quality control issues with early versions of it, which have been somewhat rectified. The benefits of this lense however (an all in one everyday lens) sold it for me however. If I notice major image quality issues with it, I shall be returning it in favour of either a better quality lens or some other glass.

Now, all I have to do is wait, could be 3 or 4 weeks before I get my hands on it, I’m just hoping that I get it before Christmas!
