Deciding where to eat
30 12 2004I have a fairly regular problem with a few of the guys here, deciding where to eat when we go out for lunch. This time of the year we tend to skip the work canteen in favour of something nice, but every now and then I prefer to try somewhere different from the regular Smiths / Seabank House / Bay / Yacht haunts!
UPDATE:
We decided to eat in Il Corvo in Drumcondra (thanks pron!) and it was lovely. Much bigger than I had expected for an Italian Restaurant in that part of the world and very quiet (empty) when we arrived. I had crostini with mozzarella to start, which wasn’t very crostini like, more toasted french bread with garlic butter and topped with mozzarella, however, still nice, followed by Pizza Corvo, which was a bacon, mozzarella and french brie topped pizza…yum! I am now as stuffed as the turkey on Christmas day!

But how was the service, perhaps you went on a good day. I vowed never to return after an experience with one of the rudest waitresses in Dublin. I then opted for Yellow Banana, the Thai place down the road, only to be told it is owned by the same people. Drumcondra is off my food list!
Service was grand for us, but then again, we turned up a few days after Christmas, and there was no-one either back at work or eating out by that stage, so, they were pretty quiet. Not being the worlds biggest fan of Italian food to start with, I’ll not be rushing back to check out their service levels, but from my experience to date it’s somewhere I wouldn’t say no to recommending
