And you thought Dublin was bad?

During a recent trip to Paris, we actually found somewhere more expensive than Dublin! Ok, so we’ve been to Paris quite a bit and knew fully what to expect, but it’s still a shock to the system when you arrive, and suddenly end up with the below, whilst looking for a cheap place to drink…

and you thought Dublin was bad?

Only thing is, you somehow feel you are paying for a very pleasant overall feeling in Paris, something you definately don’t get in Dublin.

Also, Tom was in London and confirmed my opinions that London is suprisingly inexpensive relative to Dublin. Now, who would have thought 10 years ago that we would ever be saying that!?!

Dublin is expensive even by Irish standards. The above pint cost you 8.40 in Paris. In Dublin, I guess it would be about 5.00. Here in Monaghan, I’d be insulted if I paid more than 3.50 for it.
I was appalled, when I visited Dublin for a day a year ago or so, after being out of the city since pre-euro days. It was shocking!

ouch! looks like i will have to start saving if i ever want to go to paris. i’m not sure i agree about london though - i found it dearer than dublin - a tenner for a ham sandwich took the biscuit…
