Distraught Leinster rugby fans have slammed the disgraceful ticket pricing policies of the Leinster branch of the IRFU. “The whole situation is such a total mare, roight” said lifelong Leinster rugby fan and season ticket holder Fionn McDonald-Hooke. “The prices are loike only loike 20 EUR, which is totally too low. Loike anyone can afford to come now.”

The recent upsurge in popularity of rugby has seen Leinster expand their fan base outside the traditional D4 catchment area. The decision to play European cup and some Celtic League games in Landsdowne Road means many more people can see Leinster play, while the success of the Irish rugby team on television has seen the games popularity blossom throughout the country.

“You see all kinds of people at Leinster games now” said Fionn’s fellow former Rock schools player and best mucker George O’Reilly-Finucane. “There’s scangers and northsiders and Tallaghtfornians and everything. Its not focking on.”

Fionn and George, who between them have completed one and a half years of Business, Economics and Social Studies in ‘Trinners’, put the phenomenon down to the incredible success of the Celtic Tiger. “Now with the economy so good everyone is rolling in cash, roight, we’re talking focking plumbers and bin men, everyone is loaded, and they think that gives them the right to come and watch rugby in Landsdowne and even Donnyers” reasons Fionn. “Which is focking bullshit”

Mc Donald-Hooke and O’Reilly-Finucane are also not impressed with recent expansion of the schools rugby, “My little brother is on the senior team at Rock, roight, he’s a totally brill little out half and recently they played a team from Raheny in the schools cup. Focking Raheny loike” explains George. “We hammered the scangers, obviously, but still there is something seriously wrong going on.”

“Its bad enough those Munster boggers beating us nearly half the time, but seriously, roight, I worry for the future of the game I love,” concluded Fionn “I mean they are selling Leinster jerseys in Champion Sports on Henry Street now. Its just loike wrong or something.”
