For the news junkies
14 05 2005Every now and then, you stumble upon something online that really just blows you away. Being an online news junkie, these occurences thankfully happen every few months.
I recently was flicking through The New York Times and saw a link which allowed me to sign up for a free trial download of the paper. So, I clicked on, and was linked out to NewsStand.com.
This organisation allows you to download their software, subscribe to a wide variety of publications, from the Irish Times, to the New York Times to Harvard Business review.
Then, you just sit back and wait, as the software automatically downloads the entire publication to your computer. In my case, I had signed up for the NY Times, and, received each days edition in it’s entirety as you would buy it (adverts and all).
I prefer this to reading news online, it’s just like picking up the paper itself, yet, you can read some of the worlds best publications on the train, bus, or plane home without the hassle of having to source them (and reading out of date news). It gets my tumbs up anyways!
