Another biggie
21 09 2005So, I recently predicted that Katrina was going to be a lot bigger than people were predicting pre-landfall in Louisanna, and yet here we are with another Cat 5 hurricane making its way toward the US coastline. This time its headed toward Texas (I’m quietly hoping it wipes out a certain ranch in Crawford!), with the Mayor of Houston ordering it’s citizens to evacuate before the storm makes its predicted landfall on Saturday. I don’t know how big it’s going to be yet, we’ll have to just sit it out now and see what happens over the next few days….

First off the new hurricane is called Rita…second of all, landfall is Friday now..I am assuming you aren’t American, so I can’t say much on the fact that you want it to wipe out our President’s Ranch.
However, while you want it to do that, please be kind to remember that Ireland and America are good friends and we support each other despite our differences.
Being somewhat of a nerd when it comes to hurricane’s, I’ll assure you I know well what it’s called!
Landfall may have been re-estimated to Friday now, alas, that’s where the power of printed word falls down, I posted this piece yesterday whilst predictions from NOAA were still stating Saturday as landfall day.
Your assumption that I am not American is correct. Does that mean that I do not have the right to comment on the American President, the state of the US political system, the Federal reaction to Katrina, the race problems that exist within the US, the shameless ignorance toward the Kyoto Agreement, or the brand of footwear that you wear?!? Hell no, the great thing about living in this liberal, free socio-economic and political western world which we do, is that I am free to pass comment on who / what I like where / when I like it!
Given your love of all things Ireland, I’ll give you a nice wee Irish saying, if you can’t take the heat, get out of the fire!!
Don’t wish that about the Bush ranch, he may come live with his brother in Florida!
I could say bad things about Bertie, but I don’t really know any. His daughter Cecelia can come to Florida anytime though and I’ll show her the town.
I could say great things about Bertie Ahern..but I don’t any…
..that would be knoooow any..
That would!
