Credit Card Fraud

29 09 2005

I had a call from Bank of Ireland Credit Card Services today, stating that my Credit Card had been put on “security hold” as there had been a large amount of transactions around the world on it over the past few days. Yes, this is true, I’ve been doing a little spending, between flights, hotels, cd’s, books, paying my motor tax and a few other bits and pieces! Good to know that this is being flagged however, and that the banks are taking measures to ensure cards are not being abused. I’m slightly miffed that it took them 24 hours to contact me after blocking the card however, that could have caused a few problems if I needed to use the card in a hurry and wasn’t aware what was going on!!
