DjMagra’s stuff ‘n’ stuff

As always, today’s Google Doodle rocks, very cool Haloween theme, and, whilst on it, Daily Dose of Imagery has a great Haloween theme today too!

I think that Photosig really has gone down the tube of late. Most pictures placed up there receive a max of three critiques, as it is only the first three critiques that will receive bonus points, which makes me think that all people are interested in is boosting their own figures.

Any suggestions for another service along these lines that does actually contain some good, decent critiquing?

So, is it just urban myth which states that if you are in a commercial premises watching a Sky Television broadcast that does not contain the wee pint icon in the bottom right of the screen, you can get a reward for shopping them in? Anyone have any ideas?

I’ve just been invited along to the launch of The Dubliner Magazine’s 2006 Top 100 Restaurants guide in the very cool Morrison Hotel on Tuesday evening. Should be a very cool evening out!

Because I am being hounded for them…..

Just what are they thinking really?! We’ve shown that it can be done relitavely pain free here in Ireland, it’s been done in New York, and elsewhere, yet, the English cannot decide to implement a full smoking ban. It just doesn’t make sense why they would go about it half-heartedly, with Ministers agreeing plans for a ban on smoking in enclosed public places in England - with exemptions for clubs and pubs not serving food! Straight away, I can see pubs deciding to stop serving food in order to accomodate smokers, I can see discrimination cases coming up from workers in pubs and clubs who feel they have been left on the wrong side of the law, and other such fun and games.

C’mon Tony, you have been strong enough to lead your country into a war that many though unjust, unlawful and immoral, surely you can be strong enough to ban smoking outright?! The only good I see is that they have set out a provisio to review the ban in three years, at which point, Scotland and Northern Ireland will also have implemented their bans, and England should hopefully move toward a full ban!
