Could the breakingnews.ie journalists who are lifting stories from blogs please research what you are writing a little bit first before you rehash and add a little spin and think that’s it’s worthy of posting to your own news site. Grrr!!

They lift information from bloggers, bloggers lift information from them. Soon we’ll just have one news story going round in circles :-)

What story did they rehash?

Agreed, but, responsible bloggers will source their information from more than one source, and try and verify the integrity of the information. This is even more important for journalists who are reporting for reputable news sites.

The story below about the Vodafone Talk and Text bundle appeared on breakingnews an hour after I wrote it, stating that “Vodafone today launched…” when in fact they didn’t launch the service yesterday, it’s been going for a while, I just happened to discover it myself yesterday.

I’m not saying that it was lifted from here, but it’s a bit of a coincidence! :)

I wonder what story we could spread through the Irish blogging community to see how many news outlets pick it up ;-)
